Deathstate
"Roguelike, Bullet Hell, Single Stick Shooter"
Overview
As the first full release, in-house game for Workinman, Deathstate marked the official beginning of a new department, Bread Machine, which is focused on independent property targeted towards major platform releases.
Deathstate is built in Unity using C#. I came onto the project as part of the dedicated effort to release Deathstate on Steam for PC/Mac. Since then, the game has been ported to PS4 and is currently in the works on a Switch port for which I did some work as well.
Punishing Boss BAttles
Deathstate features demon ridden levels capped of with exhilarating boss battles. As part of the team I designed and programmed several boss battles including Amon Morax (pictured here), and Queen Vhexis, the bug queen.
Diverse Enemy cast
Deathstate features a wide array of enemies spread over multiple levels. It was part of my responsibility to design groups of enemies that work well together and implement them.
PAX Indie Megabooth
As part of the team, I exhibited the game at the PAX East 2015 Indie Minibooth and again at the PAX East 2016 Megabooth.
